For Many VETERANS, the Journey HOME is Not Complete.

Return to Vietnam provides fully funded journeys for Vietnam veterans to return to the places where they served, honor those who never came home, confront memories carried for decades, and pursue healing, reconciliation, and peace.

THE WAR ENDED. THE MEMORY ENDURES.

For many Vietnam veterans, the war did not end when they returned home. It followed them into their families, relationships, dreams, health, and the long silences that often surrounded their service. Memories of those who were lost—and questions left unanswered—have remained present for more than half a century. Return to Vietnam offers veterans an opportunity to stand once more in the places that changed their lives. They return not to relive the war, but to face its lasting human cost with honesty, dignity, and the support of those who understand. These are not vacations. They are journeys of remembrance, responsibility, reconciliation, and healing.

RETURNING WITH PURPOSE

Every journey is centered on three enduring responsibilities:

REMEMBER
We honor those who served, those who never returned, and the families and communities that continue to carry their loss.

RECONCILE
We create opportunities for veterans and Vietnamese communities to meet, listen, acknowledge shared suffering, and restore human connection across the divisions of war.

HEAL
We provide veterans with a structured and supportive environment in which they may confront memories, reconnect with their brothers and sisters in service, and move toward a greater sense of peace.

MORE THAN A RETURN JOURNEY

Each program is carefully built around the service history of its participants. Veterans return to the regions where their units served, revisit places connected to sacrifice and survival, conduct acts of remembrance, and meet communities whose lives were also forever altered by war. They are accompanied by an experienced team providing medical, logistical, historical, and personal support throughout the journey. Every step is guided by dignity. Every location carries meaning. Every veteran returns with a story that deserves to be heard.

WHO WE SERVE

Vietnam Veterans:

We serve eligible combat veterans seeking to return to the places where they served and honor those who never came home.

Veterans’ Families

When a veteran finds the courage to speak, reflect, and heal, the effects can reach spouses, children, grandchildren, and generations still carrying the silence of war.

Vietnamese Communities

We respectfully engage with the people and communities in Vietnam whose families, lands, and lives continue to bear the consequences of conflict.

Future Generations

By preserving testimony and creating meaningful human connection, we ensure that the lessons of war are carried forward with truth, compassion, and purpose.

TIME MATTERS

The Vietnam generation is passing from our lives. Many veterans are living with serious illness, the long-term consequences of Agent Orange exposure, and the growing recognition that opportunities to return are becoming limited. For some, returning to Vietnam is a final wish. For others, it is the first time they have felt ready. We believe no eligible veteran should be prevented from making that journey because of cost. Through the support of our donors and partners, participation is fully funded so veterans may focus entirely on the mission before them.

WALK WITH US

Though the fighting ended decades ago, our responsibility has not. This mission belongs to veterans, families, communities, and every person who believes that sacrifice should be remembered and that reconciliation is possible. Your support helps veterans return, honors those who never came home, preserves firsthand testimony, and builds lasting bridges between people once separated by war. Walk with us as we carry memory forward.
