AMERICA‑58 brings 58 veterans from each state to honor the fallen, remember the missing, and preserve a legacy of service.

AMERICA-58

America-58 is a national, state-based program of the Return to Vietnam initiative, operating under the governance, stewardship, and mission framework of Vietnam Inc. Through each state mission, 58 Vietnam veterans are selected for a fully sponsored return to Vietnam. Their participation carries a purpose greater than the journey itself. They are entrusted to represent their fellow veterans, honor those who gave their lives, preserve the memory of those who served, and carry forward a responsibility of remembrance, reconciliation, and service for the generations that follow.

WHY NOW

For the Vietnam generation, time is limited. Veterans are aging, facing mobility problems and health issues, including Agent Orange–related illnesses. Fewer can return to Vietnam each year. America-58 acts urgently to bring them back while they can stand where they served, honor lost friends, share testimony, and take part in remembrance and reconciliation. The chance to return, hear, honor, and preserve their experiences is now.

THE STATE THEY CARRY

Every America-58 delegation carries the legacy of its home state. Its veterans return to Vietnam in honor of those from their communities who served, those who gave their lives, those who remain missing, and the families who continue to carry their absence. Throughout the mission, participants take part in acts of remembrance, return to places of historical significance, preserve firsthand testimony, and carry forward the stories of those they represent. Their responsibility extends beyond themselves. They return as representatives of their state, their fellow veterans, and a national memory that must be preserved.

To remember every life. To honor every sacrifice. To carry every story forward.
